ISASP Test Information

April 11, 2022

Dear Parent(s) or Legal Guardian(s),

For many years students in our district, as well as districts across the state, have been assessed on an annual basis with the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS), then the Iowa Assessments, and now we utilize the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP). These new assessments are developed by Iowa Testing Programs at the University of Iowa and are aligned with Iowa Core Standards. They are intended to provide a clear and accurate assessment of student learning outcomes. Student growth, proficiency, and readiness indicators will be reported.

The ISASP will be untimed as opposed to the previous timed Iowa Assessments. The grade levels, tests, and recommended administration times are provided below:

North Butler students will take these assessments using the online format during the week of:

  • April 19-22th at the Jr./Sr. High School

  • April 25-29th at the Elementary

At North Butler CSD, we will strive to create a quality testing experience that is positive for your student(s). Please talk with your student(s) about getting a good night’s rest, eating a healthy breakfast, and striving to do their best. The school is providing healthy snacks to students during testing breaks.  If you would like more information about the ISASP, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child(ren)’s school building.  Thank you for continued support of your child(ren)’s education(s).

Sincerely,

Jaymie Odell
