PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 26 of the Code of Iowa by order of the Board of Education of the North Butler Community School District, which includes all or part of the following counties: Butler, Floyd.
Said Board proposes to consider construction bids for Infrastructures Upgrades at both the Elementary School site in Allison, Iowa and the Jr/Sr High School site in Greene, Iowa.
Work of the project at the Allison School site includes modification to and extension of the existing fire alarm system to bring the school into code compliance. Partial replacement of the existing pneumatic temperature control system with a new direct digital control system. Installation of 3 rooftop air conditioning and gas heating units and associated ductwork to serve the Gym zone, the Dining area zone and the Auditorium zone. Removal of air handling equipment and ductwork from the mechanical mezzanine by the Auditorium. Removal and replacement of the steam to water heat exchanger system also in this mechanical mezzanine. New support structure will be added to support two new roof top units along with new framing to support roof hatches and ladders. A new bulkhead will be added to the existing Auditorium space to hide the new supply ductwork. Work of the project at the Greene School site includes replacement of the existing rooftop chiller with a new similar unit. Along with new support structure underneath the new chiller.
The total project cost is estimated to be $2,100,000.
A public hearing will be held at which time any interested persons may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, or estimated cost of the public improvement. The public hearing is set for 6:00 PM on October 10, 2022 in the North Butler CSD Elementary School Media Center, located at 513 Birch Street in Allison, Iowa.
